Richard
P. Arber Associates completed preliminary
design, design, and construction-phase
services for this 250,000 gallon
per day water treatment plant,
high service pump station, and
33 miles of 6 to 10 inch pipe.
The project which, was completed
in 1992, had a construction cost
of $1,809,000 which was less than
the originally estimated $2,459,000.
The raw water was collected from
the Mancos River and treated using
coagulation, adsoprtion clarification,
mixed media filtration, and disinfection.
The pipeline included a 760 psi
distribution pump station, pipelines,
and pressure reducing valve stations.
The
project included extensive route
selection investigations to avoid
valuable archeological and sensitive
environmental sites.
"Your firm accomplished
this almost impossible task in six
months. ...The end result was
a thorough design which met all
our management requirements in
an extraordinary and timely manner.
Your management of this major
design project was exceptional."
