Town of Eagle, Colorado – Transmission System Improvements and Bluffs Pump Station
Richard P. Arber Associates provided design and services during construction for 16-
inch and 24-inch transmission piping from the water treatment plant to the
Town of Eagle and designed the 0.6 mgd Bluffs Pump Station
replacement. The original below grade booster pump station was
approximately 20 years old and did not have sufficient pumping capacity to
meet new development. Key components of the project include:
- 4,000 feet of 24-inch ductile iron transmission piping.
- 2,200 feet of 16-inch ductile iron transmission piping.
- Pressure regulation valves.
- Fire hydrants, air/vacuum valve vaults and stream crossings.
- Hydraulic Modeling of the system using WaterCAD.
- 75-Hp, horizontal ends suction pumps with a firm capacity of 400 gpm each.
- Pressure reducing valve that allows the system to discharge to a lower pressure zone during fire flow conditions.
- SCADA system for automatic operation and tank turnover.
- Pressure zone monitoring and alarm auto-dialer system.
