DENVER , COLORADO - T he Consulting Firm of Trabue, Hansen & Hinshaw based in Columbia, MO has selected Richard P. Arber Associates to serve as a Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR) Process Consultant for the City of Troy, MO. The City of Troy is located in eastern Missouri, 60 miles northwest of St. Louis. A new plant is being designed for the City of Troy to serve new development that is taking place in the area.
MBRs consist of membranes installed in biological reactors to separate the suspended biomass from the treated wastewater, producing a high quality effluent. The new facilities being designed include a new headworks building consisting of coarse screening, grit removal, and fine screens. An equalization basin will be used to equalize flow to the MBR’s. Ultra violet disinfection will be used prior to discharge or possible reuse of the treated wastewater.
im O’Neill, Senior Project Engineer of Trabue, Hansen, & Hishaw stated, “We selected Richard P. Arber Associates for this important project because they have experience working on MBRs due to their prior experience with the Lone Tree MBR Plant in Arapahoe County, Colorado. The design team had experience with typical wastewater treatment systems but MBR experience was needed to round out the team. The team works well together and we hope we can continue to work together on similar projects throughout the U.S.”
